How do I add a book?
In the app, scan the book's barcode, type the ISBN or, with AI, take a photo of the cover. mbooks looks up the details and shows them to you before saving.
Is mbooks free?
You can keep up to 10 books in your library without paying. For unlimited books, pick a plan: with your own OpenAI key it's €0.99 a month, €4.99 every 6 months, €8.99 a year or €39.99 once for lifetime; with mbooks AI it's €2.99 a month, €14.99 every 6 months or €24.99 a year.
How do I turn on AI?
In Settings → AI. Paste your OpenAI key, which stays on your phone, or choose a plan with mbooks AI. Scanning barcodes and typing ISBNs work without AI.
Do you keep my OpenAI key?
No. The key is stored securely on your phone (in the Keychain, on iPhone). The app sends it with each request to our server, which uses it for that request only and never stores it, in the database or in the logs.
I have a new phone. How do I get my purchase back?
Sign in with the same account and open Settings → Plan → Restore purchases. Your library is kept in your account and comes back when you sign in.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by the App Store or Google Play. On iPhone, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. You keep unlimited books until the end of the period you've paid for.
How do I change the app's language?
In Settings → Language, choose one of the seven languages. The app switches straight away.
How do I delete my account?
In Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your books, images, audio and authors. Deleting your account doesn't cancel your subscription: cancel it on the App Store or Google Play.
Can I see my library on my computer?
Not yet. We're getting your library ready at mbooks.cloud, with the same account you use in the app.
